In November 2006 my husband and I lived one of the most beautiful and transcending experiences of our lives...we became parents. Our beautiful baby was born in our home surrounded by the loving and welcoming energy of women, her papa, and water! I am proud and grateful to have experienced birth in this way and I am embracing motherhood and all its magic.
My husband and I have been together for 5 amazing years. He is a teacher and drum circle facilitator who recently founded Giving World Percussion. He is passionate about sharing the healing qualities of group drumming and bringing out the natural rhythm that is within us. In addition to drumming, his areas of expertise include the social sciences.
I received a B.S in Business Administration through the University of Central Florida. After graduating I knew that the corporate world was not for me and decided to follow my heart wherever it would guide me. I have always loved children and am naturally nurturing, qualities that would lead me into the teaching profession.
After a short time in the public school setting, I realized again that this was not for me. My friend (now a midwife at The Birth Place) introduced me to the concept of a doula. I didn't know why at the time but I was immediately drawn in and eventually became a Certified Doula. After my first experience supporting a woman through childbirth, I knew that this role would stay with me forever.
My love and passion for supporting women's transformation has guided me into furthering my education, training, and experience. In addition to being a doula, I am a Certified Lactation Counselor, Childbirth Educator, and have served as secretary of the Central Florida Birth Network for the last 2 years. My love of children has also inspired me to facilitate a parent/child yoga program through which I help deepen this precious bond.
I am also deeply dedicated to my own spiritual awakening and that of others. As an Avatar Master I have had life-changing experiences and I am dedicated to contributing to an "enlightened planetary civilization". I am grateful for all of my experiences because I realize they are an opportunity for growth and have made me the person I am today. I am looking forward to what lies ahead for me and my family.
